The moment you've all been waiting for...

The 7th Street Project Reveal

We started renovations on this home in the middle of May (2022) and we're now only waiting on a few items to arrive and install to be fully complete. This has been our largest project to date since starting Oakwood Homes, but it seriously couldn't have turned out better.

Our First Custom Millworks

One of the coolest things about this project is we got to work with the clients to come up with customized products and designed almost every square inch of this renovation. All of the installed millwork was custom made by Josh and Caleb. Other woodworks were designed using our program and brought to life in the space exactly. Even the fireplace includes custom cut tile pieces.

The Kitchen

There was this diagonal wall in the original architecture of the

home that the clients wanted gone, so once that was out we started designing the kitchen. Our clients already knew what appliances they wanted, so that helped set the scene for a rough layout.

We made a mock up island so we could see exactly where we wanted to put it. I (it's me, Meg) and the client originally thought we wanted the island facing the fireplace. But after moving around the mock up island, it made way more sense to turn it. It was so fun to get to think about how they would work in the kitchen, but it's not always easy to see it. So I learned a CAD program so I could bring it to life for them.

The Pantry

I think one of my favorite things about the kitchen though is the new and way improved pantry.

Before it only had really deep shelves from floor to ceiling and so some of their pantry items would get pushed all the way to the back and forgotten about. Now, everything will have a space and easily in sight.

Josh and I designed the upper cabinetry on our software literally piece by piece. He was able to make a cut list and bring the entire thing to life. The clients even mentioned having the top pieces flip up for more storage and he made it happen.

All in All

Overall we are extremely proud of ourselves and will forever be grateful for the opportunity to bring our clients thoughts to life and maybe even create some they hadn't even thought about yet.

Our whole goal is to bring quality craftsmanship and functional design into your home to make life easier, because who doesn't need that these days?

I hope you enjoyed this little tour, and I'll link the entire before video below so you can really see the transformation.
