Happy New Year! We hope you all had a great holiday season. We spent the holidays with both of our families here in Chanute. We’ve enjoyed the physical break but our minds are constantly turning as we think about the upcoming year and what that will mean for Oakwood Homes.
Before we look into 2024, we wanted to take a moment to thank all our clients that we had the pleasure to work with in 2023. In 2023, we completed 39 projects and consults and had the pleasure to work with 28 different clients.
2023 Projects
What We Accomplished in 2023
We had the opportunity to create custom millworks and cabinets that put our carpentry to the test, transform bathrooms, create a couple of outdoor oases, and install multiple doors and windows. One of our big goals is to have the opportunity to build a new home or addition, and even though it didn’t happen in 2023 we are working to manifest it in 2024.
Also in 2023, we were able to graduate from our garage workshop and purchase our first dedicated shop. While we thought 3000 square feet was enough, we are filling it up faster than we could have imagined! This shop has allowed us to offer our custom cabinetry and millwork services at a much higher level. Also, we were able to hire a 3rd carpenter who has an interest in building cabinets in the shop full time. In 2024 we hope to have enough custom cabinetry business to make that dream a reality.
Overall, looking back at 2023 we made some big strides as a small construction business and it’s all thanks to you. Thank you for trusting us with your homes, making us feel welcome, and ultimately allowing us to create beautiful spaces for you.
What We Have Scheduled for 2024
Looking forward to 2024, we have some exciting projects coming up. We are heading back to the 7th Street Project to finish the last phase of the interior remodeling process. Then we have a darling farmhouse that is getting a little makeover on both the inside and outside. We also have a few small jobs in the queue that we will complete along the way.
We are hoping to serve both new clients and repeat customers in 2024 and are currently booking projects into May. If you are hoping to complete a new build, home addition, or custom cabinetry project this year let us know, we would love to talk about it.
